Genelec AOW312B Active On-Wall Monitoring System
The Genelec AOW312B is a three-way active monitoring system including loudspeaker drivers, speaker enclosure, multiple power amplifiers and active, low signal level crossovers. Designed for medium sized rooms this system is ideal for audio recording studios, general purpose broadcasting, OB vans, as well as for high end commercial installs. Architecturally it offers minimum intrusion into designed spaces while providing high sound pressure levels.
The unique Directivity Control Waveguide™ (DCW™) technology developed by Genelec provides extremely stable and accurate imaging and frequency balance even in difficult acoustic environments. Furthermore, versatile and precise crossover controls allow for accurate matching of the loudspeakers systems to different room acoustic conditions.
Designed as an active loudspeaker system, each AOW312B system contains an individually matched 19” 3U RAM4 amplifier unit with multiple power amplifiers, active crossover filters and protection circuitry. The bass, midrange and treble amplifiers of the RAM4 amplifier produce 180 W, 120 W and 120 W of short term power. These amplifiers are designed to operate at very low THD and IM distortion values and incorporate special circuitry for driver overload protection and amplifier thermal protection. The RAM4 features also an ‘Autostart’ function and two types of remote switching terminals: a 12V trigger and a contact closure switch. Neutrik Speakon connectors are included to facilitate wiring and system connection at customer facilities.
The AOW312B loudspeaker is fixed to the wall via unique mounting brackets which isolate and suspend the cabinet vertically. The brackets also allow the cabinets to be mounted with a ±15 degree angle offset to the wall to facilitate energy focus at desired listening locations.
Each amplifier is factory calibrated with the individual loudspeaker they are shipped with in order to eliminate the effects of component tolerances and ensuring consistent quality and long term reliability.
