Genelec Showcases DSP Solutions at Prolight+Sound 2012
Genelec’s award-winning DSP monitors will take centre stage on Booth 8.0 H25 at Prolight+Sound 2012. Visitors to the booth will be able to preview the 8260A and 1238CF, and see why these market leading products have accumulated four TEC awards between them, as well seeing the other key monitors in the Genelec portfolio for the professional market, including the 8000 Series. An additional attraction on the booth will be free ‘drop-in’ training sessions that will enlighten the needed steps in carrying out a successful DSP monitor set up and calibration in typical studio environment. Terho Savolainen, Marketing Manager of Genelec comments: “Over the past few years the professional market has embraced our DSP products with both the 8260A and 1238CF winning awards and plaudits across the industry. We are focusing our booth on demonstrating the performance and capabilities of both of these products which will allow members of the professional audio community to appreciate what really sets these products apart. With the GLM™ package and AutoCal™ calibration functionality, the users of our DSP monitors can always trust their monitoring – it is possible to achieve a flat frequency response with the quick and easy calibration even in challenging acoustic conditions by using our groundbreaking technology. Our on-booth training sessions will be covering all of this, so I’d urge anyone who wants to be fully up to speed to make sure to schedule in a session while at Prolight+Sound.”
The 8260A and 1238CF feature Genelec’s DSP signal processing technology which is responsible for all loudspeaker functions including crossover filters, driver equalizers, driver position and room response alignment, calibration, and equalization related filters as well as distance compensating delays. The Genelec Loudspeaker Manager™ (GLM™) software manages all these functions allowing the monitors to be used together with other DSP monitors and subwoofers in the same setup. The Genelec AutoCal™ automated room calibration and sound system alignment method provides consistent and accurate frequency response to ensure a multi-channel audio system whatever the room environment.
Also on the booth will be 8000 Series monitors which now features new contemporary colour options. The new finishes add a touch of style to the Series while retaining the traditional strengths of the leading 2-way monitor series on the market.
