Genelec has won its sixth prestigious TEC (Technical Excellence & Creativity) award. This time the accolade has been bestowed on the new 7070A active multichannel sub bass system. The 7070A active subwoofer, designed for surround sound or traditional stereo systems, features Genelec's ingenious, new Laminar Spiral Enclosure™ (LSE™) technology. The gently curved, sheet-metal enclosure allows a very long reflex venting tube to be fitted into a small space.

Designed for large surround sound or stereo installations, the 7073A features four 12" drivers, fast-acting, low distortion amplifiers, 124 dB SPL capability down to 19 Hz, plus a full 6.1-capable bass management system for impressive flexibility

Since 1978, when the first Genelec Active Monitoring Loudspeaker S30 was introduced, Genelec has concentrated its efforts and resources into the design and manufacturing of active monitoring loudspeakers for true and accurate sound reproduction.

The 1029A.LSE PowerPak is a new comprehensive multi-channel monitoring system specifically designed for post production suites and recording studios with control rooms measuring less than 3000 cubic feet.

The Triple Play is specifically designed to meet the needs of the project, recording, multimedia, or post production studio environment. It consists of two Genelec 1029A two way active monitors plus Genelec's 7050A LSE™ active subwoofer.

The Genelec 1037C is a three-way active monitoring system including loudspeaker drivers, speaker enclosure, multiple power amplifiers and low level active crossovers. The fast, low distortion amplifiers are capable of driving a stereo system to peak output levels in excess of 126 dB SPL at 1.7m. Versatile crossover controls allow for precise matching of the speaker system to different acoustic conditions. The bass frequencies are reproduced by a 12" bass driver (the -3 dB point is 35 Hz).

While Genelec's new LSE™ subwoofer technology has been winning much praise, little has been said about the background to this revolutionary approach to low frequency speaker design.

The 'secret' behind the Genelec-developed Laminar Spiral Enclosure technology is the way that a long vent with large cross sectional area has been fitted into a small enclosure. Like all the best ideas it is clever but basically simple.
